Today we visit Brighton, a popular seaside resort in the summer but offering winter guests twinkling lights, independent shops and festive pop-up markets. The town offers a wonderful mix of Regency heritage and specialist shops ideal for some Christmas shopping. It is also famous for its unusual Royal Pavilion, which was built by King George IV in a beautiful Indian and Oriental style. At this time of year, it hosts an ice rink, where you can watch the skaters, or you could enjoy a visit to Brighton i360 for a spectacular view.
We return back to the hotel in time for afternoon refreshments and Christmas cake and to relax before Christmas dinner and evening entertainment.
Relax in Eastbourne today or join our optional excursion to Hastings, which transforms into a cosy, characterful seaside town during the Christmas season. The Old Town, with its narrow lanes, timbered buildings, and boutique shops, becomes the heart of the festivities. Fairy lights drape across the streets, windows glow with handmade decorations, and the smell of mulled wine drifts from cafés and pubs. Along the seafront, the Hastings Pier sparkles with winter lights, offering crisp coastal walks and panoramic views of the English Channel.
with an extra experience
This optional excursion is available to pre-book or you can book during your tour.
Today we visit Royal Tunbridge Wells. This historic spa town is an equal distance between London and the coast and has attracted visitors for hundreds of years. It lies in the heart of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in unspoilt countryside known as the Garden of England. Named Tunbridge Wells originally due to the natural spring here, in 1909 Edward VII honoured the town with the Royal prefix as a testament to his mother, Queen Victoria, who loved the town.
In winter, Royal Tunbridge Wells becomes a winter wonderland with twinkling lights along the historic Pantiles, decorated shopfronts, and a warm atmosphere. Why not take a ride on Rudolph's Road Train that runs from late November to Christmas Eve and passes the town's attractions?
We return to the hotel in time for afternoon refreshments followed by dinner and entertainment.
We depart the hotel this morning and return home.
